The Rügen Natural Heritage Centre is completely wheelchair friendly. The treetop walk and its "Eagle’s Nest” view tower are easy to negotiate with wheelchairs and prams thanks to a maximum gradient of 6 % and a series of flat stretches for wheelchair users to rest on. The access tower with its elevator provides easy access to the walkway for seniors, wheelchair users, families with children and prams, or anyone else who has difficulty with stairs.
Accessible washrooms are available at the parking area and at the Environmental Information Centre.
With prior reservation via telephone, wheelchairs and wheeled walkers may be borrowed free of charge: Call +49 38393 / 66 22 00 to reserve.
Please note that the ticket office will ask for a piece of ID as a deposit.
To get an idea of how visitors with handicaps can experience the treetop walk, have a look at this movie by the GROSSER WAGEN project.
At the Rügen Natural Heritage Centre, we've got something for everyone – young or old, big or small! Eventful, fun and informative stations along the treetop walk complement the child-oriented elements of the nature exhibition. The free adventure playground provides lots of room for young explorers to let off steam, while the grown-ups soak up the sun in the adjacent beer garden.
Make use of our family ticket rates for a particularly good deal!
Our „Treetop Walk Comic Rallye“ turns the visit to the treetop walk into a special experience! The comic asks the children a series of questions, the answers to which alert eyes can find along the walkway. Good luck - and most of all, have fun!
